What is a thread breast lift?
Similar to a cheek or jowl lift, a thread lift for the breast involves placing suture material (long, textured filaments of polydioxanone (PDO)) into the breast to lift up fallen tissue. It gives fantastic results for moderately fallen breasts that are not too heavy; so the material can bear the weight of the breast. Results are instantaneous with the full effect coming to fruition within 8 weeks.

Both types of non-surgical breast lifts reach their maximal effect around the 3 month mark. Over time the threads are gradually and naturally absorbed into your skin.
Generally repeat treatments aren’t required for 2 years, but as the results wear off you may want to be treated again sooner.
What type of breasts are best suited to non-surgical breast lifts?
Dr. Nathan advises that non-surgical breast lifts are ideal for clients with smaller (A cup or B cup) breasts looking to regain their youthful perkiness and tightness. Is there scarring?
No. The thread incisions are so minute they will heal without leaving a trace.
How soon can I be active after breast lift threads?
The downtime from non-surgical breast lifts is virtually nil, so you can go about your daily routine without significant recovery time.
We do have some recommended do’s and don’ts:
Don’t:
- Avoid pressure exerted on the breasts. Sleep on your back the first two nights.
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours.
- Avoid strenuous activity for 2 weeks. (This includes gym, running, swimming.) Light exercise / walking is ok after 48 hours. Always support the breasts.
- Avoid any activities where treated areas may get contaminated (i.e. sauna, steam rooms, beach, gardening, cleaning, swimming) for at least 48 hours post procedure.
Do:
- Drink plenty of fluids.
- Apply a cold compress on the treated area if required post treatment.
- Take Paracetamol if required for pain relief.
