 PRP Hair Loss Injections

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections are used to stimulate hair growth and rejuvenate skin. We employ them for hair growth by drawing a small of your blood, remove the red blood cells and platelet fraction rich in growth factors and nutrients, and then reinfuse them back into the tissue – scalp or skin. (Ask us about our PRP hand rejuvenation treatments.)

As for your hair, think of PRP injections as an alternative to, or an adjunct of, finasteride or minoxidil hair treatments. But instead of taking a pill every day for the rest of your life, or applying topical solutions to your scalp, with PRP injections, you can regrow your hair with 3 injection treatments one month apart.

Are PRP hair loss treatments permanent?

Unfortunately not. PRP injections are an effective treatment for male pattern baldness (otherwise known as androgenic alopecia.) In 3 sessions, one month apart, we can regrow your hair, with dramatic regrowth 6 months after the treatment.

After one or two years, your regrown hair will naturally begin to thin out. A booster PRP injection will set you right once more and you can expect to repeat this one session treatment every one to two years to keep your beautiful head of hair.

In our considered opinion, this a better, more cost-effective hair growth regimen than what you’ll experience should you consider pill form or scalp liquid solutions.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Are PRP injections worth it?

When you inject platelet-rich plasma into the scalp, the stem cells in your hair root are awoken. PRP therapy results in hair restoration by stimulating the growth of new hair from previously dormant follicles, strengthening and thickening your existing hairs.

If you’re suffering from male pattern baldness and you’d like your hair back, then PRP hair restoration is worth it.

Who should not get PRP injections?

Platelet-rich plasma injections may not be appropriate for a patient who has a medical condition that could worsen or spread with injections, such as an active infection, a metastatic disease, or certain skin diseases.

    Do PRP injections hurt?

Truth be told, it’s a very mild pain and you may experience slight scalp tenderness.
