Neck Filler Injections

Miraculously you’ve been able to keep signs of ageing from your face at bay, with a stringent morning and evening routine of toners, scrubs, moisturisers and a regular spa visit for diamond microdermabrasion. Well done! Unfortunately, your age is still betrayed by your neck (and hands) which is a different type of skin and not as responsive to any of the over the counter treatments that may have helped you with your face.

The vertical lines of loose skin that start appearing on your neck are sometimes referred to as ‘Turkey Neck,’ whereas the horizontal lines tend to be creases caused over time like any other wrinkle by hyper-contracted muscles. In both cases, dermal fillers for the neck can help you return to a smoother, supple neck that is significantly more youthful and attractive.

Medical Injectables offer the best neck fillers in Wollongong and Orange, NSW. We use only high quality, Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) listed cosmetic injectables to rejuvenate your tired neck area.

Turkey Neck

Gobble Gobble! Turkey Neck is such a devastating term, yet it accurately describes the effect of ageing that leaves the skin loose and droopy in the front of the neck.

Over time, your skin naturally becomes thinner, causing a hollow effect under the skin. Combined with gravity (that relentless ageing accelerator) the appearance of excess skin drooping under the chin and down the neck is a common result of ageing.

Dermal fillers fill the space under the skin with a naturally occurring molecule called hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is produced just below the skin to give it elasticity and structure. But as we age, production wanes and dermal fillers of hyaluronic acid help to stimulate your own body to produce more collagen, filling out the hollows.

The goal of dermal filler treatments is to precisely restore the hyaluronic acid where it is lost and use it as a volumiser for deep creases.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I sleep on my side after neck fillers?

Yes, you can sleep on your side. However, considering your neck’s healing process and re-growing of collagen, our recommendation is that you sleep on your back for one or two nights after treatment.

How many years younger can fillers make you look?

Fillers can make you look a lot younger, but the question of “how much younger will I look?” is very difficult to answer and varies from person to person. It is usually easier to make someone in their 30s look like they are in their 20s, and someone in their 40s or 50s to look like they are in their 30s, but it really depends on personal circumstances and other factors like sun damage, greying of hair and even fashion sense, as all these factors collect together to give us an impression of someone’s age.

The new look from dermal fillers typically lasts from 6-12 months, but some fillers can last much longer and are semi-permanent.

    Which filler lasts the longest?

Dermal fillers differ in the concentration of hyaluronic acid in them, the degree of cross linking, and how long or short the strands of hyaluronic acid are. Some dermal fillers also have peptide or electrolyte additives in them. Highly cross-linked dermal filler, at a high concentration of hyaluronic acid, tends to last longest. It is best to speak to an experienced doctor about this technical information for each brand of filler, as many are very similar with only subtle differences, and most clinics stock a range of fillers with different longevities.

    Do dermal fillers hurt?

It is common to experience light discomfort, bruising, tenderness and redness which are all normal symptoms post procedure.

What brand of dermal filler is used and how many mls?

Due to Australian medical advertising regulations, we cannot advise of the brand names we use in our clinics. However, in our complimentary consultation and appointments we can speak freely with you about the products. Our Dermal Fillers are sold in 1ml syringes, to determine the correct dosage for you we recommend you make an appointment with one of our experienced cosmetic injectors at Medical Injectables in Orange or Wollongong.
