Thread Lift Cosmetic Injectables

A thread lift is a minimally invasive alternative to a surgical face lift. But it’s not just for face lifts – it is also used to lift the cheek, jowl, butt, breast, and to create the fox eye brow.

The thread lift technique lifts and tightens the skin, with very little down time, and frequently impressive and very long-lasting results.

Medical Injectables offer the best thread lifts in Wollongong and Orange, NSW. Our products are Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) listed and can give you that winning look you have always wanted.

The Liquid Facelift

No, we’re not talking about soaking your face in vodka. Threadlifts are often referred to as the liquid facelifts because they are filaments of polydioxanone (PDO) that are injected like liquid under the skin with a needle. They are placed by our trained cosmetic injectable professionals in such a way that the skin is lifted and tightened.  Over time (approximately 6 to 12 months) the threads are naturally absorbed into your skin.

Depending on the quality, number, and placement of the thread lift filaments and person being treated with them, the results can take years off, and results typically last 2 years (mono threads) or 6 to 12 months (barbed threads). Following this minimally invasive, non-surgical facelift alternative patients can go about their daily life immediately, though we recommend two days away from work. On the other hand, a surgical facelift involves heavy anaesthetic, longer recovery and often takes a patient offline for a week or two.

So as a effective medium-term solution instead of a facelift, there is much to gain with thread lifts.

Here at Medical Injectables we are looking forward to discussing your threadlifing goals and will recommend the appropriate treatment or combination of treatments. Contact us today for a free consultation!

Frequently Asked Questions about Thread Lifts

How many times can you have a thread lift?

There is no limit on the number of times you can have a thread lift procedure done. But they are not usually needed more frequently than every 2 years.

What is the best procedure for sagging jowls?

Best treatment to lift this large area is a barbed thread lift or surgery.

What is better thread lift or facelift?

In terms of expectations a rule of thumb for a thread lift is 25% of the result of a facelift for 25% of the cost.

Whilst no lifting technique can produce permanent results, facelift surgery will usually produce longer lasting results (often 10 years) whereas a thread lift at a fraction of the cost generally last 6 months to 1 year.

Can you remove PDO threads?

Thread lifts are reversible, unlike a face-lift. PDO Threads can be released with Radiofrequency (RF) or subscision if required.

Will skin laser treatments cause my threads to dissolve?

It is unlikely that a laser treatment would affect threads, as laser treatments keep to the surface of the skin and don’t penetrate deep into the tissue where the PDO filaments have been threaded in, however this may vary from laser to laser.
