Are thread lifts worth it?
Thread lifting is excellent value for money due to the longevity of the procedure. Typically the effects of threads last 6-12 months.
Can you get filler after a thread lift?
Yes. Dermal filler is safe to use before or after a thread lift, although many doctors prefer to have a 2 week window either side of the procedure so that any swelling and anatomical changes have resolved. This makes it easier to assess the face in the planning phase.
What should you not do after a face or neck thread lift?
Offical aftercare is:
- Apply a cold compress on the treated area if required post treatment. Paracetamol may be used for pain relief.
- Avoid pressure exerted on the neck. Sleep elevated and on your back for the first night or two.
- We recommend the ‘Mint Post Procedure Support Mask’ be worn for up to 3 weeks post procedure while sleeping to support the area and to reduce swelling and discomfort.
- Drink plenty of fluids, avoid alcohol and hot drinks for 48 hours.
- Don’t stretch the neck or make any exaggerated movements for 2 weeks post procedure.
- Avoid strenuous activity for 48 hours. (This includes gym, running, swimming) Walking and light exercise straight after procedure is fine.
- Avoid any activities where treated areas may get contaminated (i.e. sauna, steam rooms, gardening, cleaning, supermarket shopping) for at least 48 hours post procedure.
- No dental work for 1 month after procedure.
- Avoid make up on the area that has been worked on for at least 48 hours.
How painful is thread lift?
The procedure is relatively painless and local anesthetic is used at site of insertion. If required, paracetemol may be used following the treatment.
